Webber secured the starting QB position this spring, which in my mind was the obvious choice. You can’t simply bench a 4 year starting QB unless something has gone terribly wrong. Webber did have a rough season last year and I even found myself complaining about Webber most games. In saying that, they’ve got to give him better protection. If the O-Line can stay tough, Webber will have a much better chance at success this season.

The annual Gopher Spring Game is set to kick off this Saturday at 1:30 PM. It will consist of four 12-minute (running time) quarters, plus a 15-minute halftime.

We didn’t get Seantrel Henderson but Brewster and the Gophers are feeling pretty good about this year’s recruiting class. Not sure if any of them will be able to step in and contribute this year but hopefully this will help build a solid foundation in the years to come.

Brewster gets a couple more years. I think it was a move that had to be made. We cannot afford to go through the “re-building” phase over and over again. If the program isn’t moved any farther in the next four years, then we need to find a new guy for the job.
