Big Ten Division Alignments

The Big Ten will join the other major conferences in 2011 with an inaugural championship game with the champions from each division. The championship game will determine the Big Ten Champion and the conference’s participant in the Rose Bowl Game or Bowl Championship Series National Championship Game.

2011, 2012 Big Ten Football Schedules Released

So here it is, the Big “Ten” will split into two divisions.  The Gophers will be in a division with Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska and Northwestern.   The Gophers will also play a protected crossover game with Wisconsin each season.  It’s definitely not going to be an easy division to win but it should give the Goph’s a little bit of hope by not having to Penn State or Ohio State on as frequent of a basis.  Maybe they can sneak in an unlikely win against Penn State this year to steal the Governor’s Bell before the new division takes effect.
